Should you buy a Cat N or Cat S car?

Cat N (non-structural) is the lower risk option. The damage was cosmetic — dented panels, scuffed bumpers, damaged lights. If repaired properly, these cars drive fine. Expect to pay 20–30% less than a clean equivalent.

Cat S (structural) is higher risk. Chassis or structural components were damaged. Even when professionally repaired, there's a higher chance of long-term issues. The discount is typically 30–50%, but your insurance premiums will be higher.
